The start of something good!
7 Lakes Alliance and the Maine DEP are pleased to share that on August 31, a small portion of Belgrade Stream will be treated with a low-risk herbicide to reduce invasive variable-leaf milfoil, lower the risk of its spread into Long Pond, and improve ecological conditions below Wings Mills Dam.
Property owners within 1,000 feet of the treatment area will receive a letter from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (Maine DEP) with information about the treatment.
