Good news to share from Belgrade Stream…
On August 31st, a small portion of Belgrade Stream was treated with a low-risk herbicide to reduce invasive variable-leaf milfoil, hoping to lower the risk of its spread into Long Pond, and improve ecological conditions below Wings Mills Dam.
A few important reminders for you:
👉 The effects of the treatment will not be visible for several weeks.
❌ Do not remove any rooted vegetation as they need to fully absorb the herbicide for it to be effective.
💦 There are no drinking water or swimming restrictions.
🌱 Out of an abundance of caution, for 3 days following treatment, do not water your lawn with lake water if you are within 1,000 ft of the treatment areas.
